ROUND 9 RECAP OF SCORES, RANKING & CRITIQUES

Here are the scores and ranking of the Final 4 in Round 9:

Finalist #8 Maki (76.15)

MMM VERY MAGAZINEsh…KNOWING THAT MAKI IS A GUY THAT’S ANDROGYNOUS ENOUGH…LINDA E?

I think what you achieve is the "femme fatale" magazine description rather than the futuristic androgeny. The only futuristic touch I see is the exagerrated belt and nothing else. You projected femme instead of mixing both the male and female or being genderless.

I may be expecting more from you because this is your genre. But you opted for the ordinary fashion magazine theme. I cannot see the future and even the androgyne. To me, you are all female. Easily distinguishable. As usual, your projection is great. But fall short if we follow the theme closely.

Did we say futuristic or blase Hollywoodish? Did we mean androgynous or feminine? It definitely looks like the cover of a lifestyle magazine with the photo surrounded by candy-colored playful fonts. But Maki here has transformed himself into a fabulous Hollywood female model of the 80s. The photo is not what the editors need for the cover.

Nice magazine lay-out and pose. Eventhough you didn’t exactly go straight for the thematic androgyne, your look is quite a simple yet striking ensemble for 2015. The hair coloring is a nice touch to differentiate your look from the now to the future.

Finalist #9 CJ (75.98)

MMMMM VERY X-MEN..THOUGH I LIKE THE POSING OF CJ HERE.

You undoubtedly nailed this concept and definitely worthy of becoming the cover of LMS Magazine. The hair and make-up is futuristic and you focused on the genderless meaning of Androgeny. I just expect more from your expression like a growl, scream, or biting a chain necklace for added impact.

Awesome is all I can say! But if we were to gauge from reality, I am not one to buy your spread for the simple reason that Hey, this is just another movie teaser. The black came in too strong but your eyes have that weird but awesome projection - you are a strong contender to win.

It could have been a scene in the film E.T. but the "futuristic" trajectory of that movie has already been surpassed by the current creative imagination of artists elsewhere. Besides, are the models not supposed to reveal their glaring androgynous selves? The black skin suit -- and is that a ski mask? -- did not help CJ liberate himself from the cloying claws of the present but shoved him aside instead in this competition.

Very scary overall look yet too sci-fi futuristic depiction of how fashion will be in the year 2015. Nice fashionable finger claw accessories. Very nice thematic look though for a photography magazine but not exactly for a fashion magazine.

Finalist #6 Khalel (73.44)

THE KABUKI FACE IS ANDROGYNOUS..THOUGH IT’S TOO OPAQUE..ORIENTALIA.

I can understand that Kabuki is a representation of Androgeny but it is very traditional and not even fashionable or futuristic. The make-up hindered you from giving any kind of expression. I cannot even see you wearing something except for that red cape of some sort.

The kabuki make-up made this entry a truly outstanding entry. I just love the red theme. But I can sense that you are being complacent in your submission. The naturel is being to fade. There is no more effort. You are just being robotic. For this one, for sheer hiding behind the real you, you are it.

The world in 2015 will be dominated by an Asian display of imagination, echoing Toffler in Future Shock and The Third Wave. The capitalist economies of industrialized countries, having reached their peak and point of saturation, will gradually wane in dominance even from the cultural point of view. The recent melamine scare after the Beijing 2008 Olympics signals an emergent trend that foregrounds Asia. These ideas and much more were conveyed by the futuristic photo of androgynous Khalel.

Interesting concept but not exactly original. For 2015 fashion, I believe that Asian fashion will be at the forefront and inspiration of worldwide fashion and you are on the right track. Nice colors and lay-out as well as caption. You could have done a much more elaborate pose though to keep it fresh.

Finalist # 4 NJames (58.49)

MMMMMM…..IN A WAY THERE'S A BIT OF ANDROGYNY..BUT NOT TOO FUTURISTIC.

This is a disappointing entry from you considering that this is the last stretch of the competition. I did not see the androgeny or even the futuristic element required for this week. Your picture lacks character and enthusiasm to land you the title. The only thing I like is that your face is relaxed.

Overall, you went for the raw look, to show how you really looked. But I cannot see the androgyne. The layout is fine. Simple. Worth looking, but not buying. You are at your best in your casuals. But to be strict about the theme, I find that lacking in your entry. Surely, there is more to you than this.

The model does not look androgynous despite the wings and the effeminate pose. There is also nothing futuristic about the photo, the concept, the modeling. If it is neither androgynous nor futuristic, the suggested photo for a magazine cover on 2015 failed to capture the intent and direction of the publication.

I was expecting a bit more effort from your team to be able to take a slice of the top slot during this final leg of the competition but apparently you failed to bring it on. Your take on the concept is not really 2015 but just the present fashion casual look.
