G4Ms Last Model Standing Cycle 1 Winner

G4Ms Last Model Standing is...

warlocke

Congratulations, warlocke!! You're G4M's Last Model Standing!! :-)

You outposed, outmodelled, and outlasted 9 other contestants to become the 1st ever Winner of G4M's Last Model Standing, and the 3rd/4th winner of the G4M-NTM/LMS series.

This was definitely a come-from-behind win. Out of the 9 judges in the finals, 3 of them didn't even vote for you in the auditions to be part of the Top 12. Your portfolio started out weak, but eventually your photos grew stronger and stronger. You ended the competition with an impressive G4M-LMS magazine cover, and a runway video which demonstrated your passion for and dedication to the competition.

You truly deserve to be G4M's Last Model Standing. :-)

* * * *

We, the organizers of G4M's Last Model Standing, would like to thank each and everyone of you who participated for making Cycle 1/Cycle 4 a resounding success.

To the judges, thank you for voting week after week. The public didn't always agree with our choices, but we did the best we could. Thank you for your efforts in helping the models reach their potential and come up with truly great photos, especially through your insightful critiques.

We'd also like to thank everyone of you in the audience who have supported us throughout this competition. Though you may not have agreed with all our choices, though we might not have always understood each other, we appreciate the fact that you chose to share a part of your life with us. For that we are grateful.

Last, but definitely not the least, we'd like to thank all the models who joined Cycle 1 of G4M's Last Model Standing. hard_hot, mrdreamboy, Malificent, james jay, theTruCallin, Onyn iS heRe, Aked, john ralph, CeEJhAy_10, crazycrepe, claydoh, and warlocke -- you were the backbone of this competition. If it weren't for your dedication in coming up with a new photo every week, if you didn't put so much effort into your pics, this competition wouldn't have been as great. Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts.

* * * *

Cycle 2/Cycle 5 of G4M's Last Model Standing starts in a few week. We'll announce the mechanics for joining as a judge or as a model in a new thread. Please watch out for it. In the meantime, congratulations to everyone on a successful Cycle 1!! :-)

G4Ms Last Model Standing Cycle 1 Recap

This is the official recap of G4M's Last Model Standing Cycle 1.

* * * *

Cycle 1 of G4M's Last Model Standing has come to an end!

It's time we took a few moments to reflect on everything that happened in the past 12 weeks.

G4M's Next Top Model had 3 wonderful cycles. It grew so popular that there were many calls to grow the competition further. There were those that even suggested we could make it an actual event. To avoid any legal issues that might happen because we shared got the name from America's Next Top Model, we decided to rename the competition G4M's Last Model Standing.

It took us a long time to find willing models to join the competition. It was a full 3 weeks before we finally had enough G4M members to audition for a coveted spot in the Top 12 models for Cycle 1. Once we did have enough members auditioning though, the competition just got fiercer and fiercer.

Though there was very little drama, in the end, all that mattered were the photos the models submitted. It was all about the photos. The models put so much effort into their photos each week. Round after round, the quality just got better and better. The judges often found difficulty choosing who to eliminate. Elimination night was always a sad night.

Tonight, we make our last elimination. Tonight, we announce the winner of G4M's Last Model Standing. Before we announce the winner of G4M's Last Model Standing Cycle 1, here's a quick summary of what happened each round.

* * * *

Auditions -- Black & White Beauty shot, Strictly Business

For the first time in 4 cycles of G4M-NTM/LMS, the G4M members who were auditioning to be part of the Top 12 had to submit 2 photos based on 2 themes: 1 was a black & white beauty shot, and 1 was a photo based on the theme "Strictly Business". At the end of the auditions, 4 models got 12 out of 12 votes to be part of the Top 12: john ralph, hard_hot, Malificent, and Onyn iS heRe.

* * * *

Round 1 -- The Heat Is On

The models were still trying to find their way in the competition during Round 1. Some of them submitted photos that weren't edgy enough, and some of them submitted photos that were too edgy. Unfortunately, we also had to automatically eliminate someone for failing to submit a photo before the deadline.

Model of the Week: john ralph

Out of all the photos submitted, john ralph's was the most high-fashion. john ralph showed off the clothes he was wearing well, and this is something he would continue to do in the succeeding weeks.

Automatically Eliminated: hard_hot
Eliminated: mrdreamboy

hard_hot was busy building his career outside of G4M-LMS, and was unable to submit a photo. mrdreamboy came up with a photo that some considered to be a memorabilia shot, and was promptly eliminated.

* * * *

Round 2 -- Labor-er Day

For this round, the models definitely began owning their modelesque-ness, and many of them submitted high-fashion photos even with a theme that required them to show their raw side. This was a sign that many good things were still to come.

Model of the Week: CeEJhAy_10

CeEJhAy_10 took a risk by posing next to a carabao, and the risk paid off. He did the best out of all the models in exuding a raw energy while still maintaining an edgy look.

Automatically Eliminated: Malificent
Eliminated: james jay

Malificent was unable to submit a photo in time and was automatically eliminated from this round. The judges were confused by james jay's photo concept, and since they didn't feel the raw vibe in his entry, they eliminated him as well.

* * * *

Round 3 -- The Virgin Suicides

This week's theme was an attempt by the organizers to have the models interpret a controversial theme. The models stepped up their game, and turned an ugly reality into beautiful shot.

Model of the Week: claydoh

claydoh's broken-down mannequin pose won over the judges, and he put aside his usual dolled-up look to come up with a gritty, raw photo. He took his first win of the competition in this round.

Automatically Eliminated: theTruCallin
Eliminated: Onyn iS heRe

theTruCallin was automatically eliminated this week, and Onyn iS heRe was also eliminated for coming up with over-polished yet unoriginal performance.

* * * *

Round 4 -- Prey of the Paparazzi

For this round, the models had to prove they could be as fabulous in their everyday lives as they were in their photoshoots. This round had some surprising results, as those who were previously in the background came up with stunning shots, and those at the forefront gave subpar performances.

Model of the Week: claydoh

For the 2nd week running, claydoh came up with a stunning photo. His ode to the paparazzi faves Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan impressed the judges, and he established himself as a favorite to win the competition.

Eliminated: Aked

The judges weren't impressed with Aked's photo, and considering he had an average performance in the previous round as well, his elimination was perhaps to be expected.

* * * *

Round 5 -- Wow Philippines

For this round, the models had portray ethnic looks while still being high-fashion. This round produced the first shocking elimination of the cycle, as one of the early favorites for the title was eliminated.

Model of the Week: CeEJhAy_10

CeEJhAy_10 was again able to rock a raw look. He won over the judges with his tribal look, and cemented his place as one of the competition's top performers.

Eliminated: john ralph

Though he was an early favorite to win the competition, coming near the top during most of the rounds, john ralph had his worst performance of the competition, and unfortunately it resulted in him bowing out of the competition.

* * * *

Round 6 -- Movie Mania

With only 2 weeks left until the finals, the competition just got harder and harder. This week was one of the most difficult for the judges as far as choosing who to eliminate was concerned, as each of the remaining models had a good shot at the title.

Model of the Week: warlocke

Though his performances in the early rounds weren't that memorable, warlocke's performance began picking up late in the competition. This round was his first win, and he won with a photo that perfectly emulated the spirit of Sweeney Todd.

Eliminated: CeEJhAy_10

Though he gave strong performances throughout most of the competition, CeEJhAy_10 over-exerted himself in this round. The judges were confused by his multiple looks, and promptly eliminated him.

* * * *

Round 7 -- One Day You're In; The Next Day You're Out

For this round the models had a photoshoot at Intramuros, and had to portray 2 looks: 1 was of a gay guy who was still in the closet, and 1 was of a gay guy who had embraced his sexuality. crazycrepe was unable to join the photoshoot, and was claydoh and warlocke had made it into the finals.

Model of the Week: warlocke

warlocke continued his amazing performances, and proved that he was peaking in the competition at just the right time. The judges in particular like his femme look, and thought he managed to pull off the look while still being high-fashion.

Automatically Eliminated: crazycrepe

* * * *

Final Round

And now we're down to the final 2. For the finals, the judges would have to vote based not only on the official photos the models submitted for the week, but for the first time the judges also had to vote on the runway walk the models uploaded to YouTube. Part of the voting would also be based on the models' whole portfolios. It was not an easy vote to make.

2 models outposed and outmodelled 8 others to make it this far. However only 1 can claim the right to call himself the first ever winner of G4M's Last Model Standing. Here's one last look at our final 2.

claydoh

The judges thought you had the most consistent portfolio. Week after week you gave edgy and fierce performances. Your final photo was great, and your runway walk proved that you had the attitude to make it far in this industry. Congratulations on consistently proving your worth in this competition.

warlocke

You may not have been one of the frontrunners at the beginning of this competition, but if there's anything that you've proven to us these last few weeks, it's that you can never count anyone out. Your final photo was amazing, and the dedication you showed in coming up with your runway walk was truly impressive. Congratulation for successfully having developed into a top model.

* * * *

And now comes the moment of truth. After 12 long weeks, tonight we finally announce the winner of Cycle 1 of G4M's Last Model Standing.

I will only call 1 name. The name I will call is G4M's Last Model Standing...

Cycle 1 Finals -- Critiques

1. Ellis:

Magazine Cover - I like both of them but I prefer Warlocke's cover. It's a high fashion. A true transformation. As for Claydoh, he is a natural model, pang-commercial and editorial.

Runway - I prefer Claydoh's walk though medyo bitin. Medyo stiff si Warlocke.

Portfolio - At some point, tie para sa akin. I like Warlocke's movie genre and paparazzi. I love Claydoh's business attire and suicide pic.

My vote: Claydoh and Warlocke

Aba ang hirap mamili kaya sila pareho iboboto ko. :p

2. Evian_Yohann:

congratulations to all!

warlocke: runway walk - boring!!! you call that a runway walk? there's no personality...at all! you just walked, nothing more! you really looked pretty much stiffed and self-conscious. If that's your runway walk, you better get a runway101 class; glms mag - this is one hell of a photo, i admit. i can't think or say anything wrong with this photo because it looked perfect. It even for me, the best photo submitted as far as glms ang g4m-ntm is concerned. congratulations!!!

claydoh: runway walk - your walk is too much flamboyant for my taste and obviously, you exerted less effort. but then, you have the personality of a true model which is sooooo much important. you just have to learn to cater whats best for the majority of the people.; glms mag - all i can say is that...I AM FRUSTRATED!

portfolio:

audition: claydoh - naturally modelesque; warlocke - mediocre + unflattering
round 1: warlocke - simple and literal yet the message was there; claydoh - out of tune
round 2: claydoh - fashionable and fierce; warlocke - boring
round 3: claydoh - effective and powerful; warlocke - trying hard and questionable
round 4: warlocke - sizzling hot and outstanding; claydoh - beautiful and gorgeous
round 5: claydoh - mediocre but ok; warlocke - irrelevant and trashy
round 6: warlocke - amazing; claydoh - so-so
round 7: claydoh - fun and exciting; warlocke - doubtful

PORTFOLIO: CLAYDOH
RUNWAY WALK: UNDECIDED
GLMS COVER: WARLOCKE

WINNER: WARLOCKE

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

3. Juls2:

CATWALK

Claydoh showed us personality in his runway video and less catwalk. I think it will sell if what we are looking for is a commercial model, product endorser, or a tv personality. I expected to see his model potential or the least is his desire to win this for the second time. Sad to say it was lacking in this video.

Warlocke's catwalk is stiff but I can see his focus and desire to win this competition. The risk he took in the last stages of this competition is phenomenal and it paid off.

CATWALK winner = Warlocke

PHOTOCOVER

Claydoh this last picture is definitely your best in the competition. Your face is very relaxed and serene while your eyes is piercing.

Warlocke your photoshoot cover says it all " It's a wrap. Warlocke, the chameleon in his final act." The last thing I want to say is congratulations for a job well done.

PHOTOCOVER winner = Warlocke

My vote for G4m LMS Cycle 1 is WARLOCKE

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

4. lenin:

COVER

warlocke -- YOu have greatly improved I must say. Your effort to come out with a credible high fashion cover pushed through and sadly, CLaydoh's effort isnt up to the standards that a finalist should have. AS always, you made use of your eyes which seems to be your strongest point. The stare is intense and seems to bore deep into someones soul. A Fitting finish indeed.

claydoh -- Your potential was great. In the rounds where you stood out and won, yuo were really great. The execution is great in this supposed cover shot, but i somehow feel there's somethign odd about the Photo especially if youre going up against Warlock's which came out more solid and the obvious effort that were put simply shone through. You had a great chance and somehow at the finishing line you were sputtering instead of shining.

VIDEOS

warlocke -- There is no question about it, Warlock have this in the bag. He obviously took time out to at least think of the concept and the good editing of the video made this commercial stronger.

claydoh -- I dont know if you were really serious to win this competition. You showed so much potential and the fact that you came this far is a testament to the superb shots you were able to make these past few rounds. Video is too short, too off. You could have made this better if the editing was good. Its a chance wasted as it was obvious that this was hastily done.

Cycle Winner : warlocke

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

5. rotogold:

claydoh -- You have been consistent all throughout the rounds. You have considerably placed well in most of the previous rounds and the efforts are evident. There is no doubt that you have made us notice you.

Pose: Despite your small frame, you are able to upstage or be on the center of things.

Projection : You are dramatic.

Overall Portfolio: I find the range just about right.

Ramp walk: The entry is weak and is very much contrived. There is not much artistry in all. You only spoke to us.

Photocover: You have displayed intensity in the photo. But there is something lacking. You lacked the depth. I cannot even read you at all. And it is not even realistic to hug a cover without even anything written on it. Or it would not have been a magazine at all. Or I have not been reading all magazines at all.

warlocke -- You have been voted as "eliminated" in previous rounds. You had been stale and you lacked the ferocity and determination that makes a model. But you have the knack for learning and listening. You took the comments seriously and made your way back to the top.

Pose : You are ably structured. You possess the physical strength.

Projection: You successfully convey the message across. You converse with your audience and in a muted effect; you are silently edging the notice from everybody else.

Overall Porfolio : You have run the whole gamut of emotions. You have worked your weaknesses into strength. And you have exuded the zealousness that will make a real model.

Ramp Walk: Congratulations. You have made me stared at you in this presentation. The clothing is simply superb. And the setting is apt. You have shown yourself to be truly the Last Model Standing.

Photocover: Not only the fierceness is shown, it is your eyes that made you win even this round. You are a model personified. I liked the sophistication. I liked the presentation. I liked the gestures. And most of all, I liked the total impact it made on me. Not only you came prepared even with the texts on the cover, it just shows that a magazine cover should have some texts on it. And I like what was written, the drama – The Chameleon in its Final Act. What a way to go! Congratulations.

2008 G4M LAST MODEL STANDING -- WARLOCKE -- on all 3 criteria and for submitting on time.

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

6. toyan: the hardest thing to do here is to choose between the 2 greatest models in the entire season... both of them have already proven themselves.. but.. there cud only be one winner... first of all congrats to u warlocke and claydoh. .. here's my judgment.. for the runway walk.. both of them did well.. but i think warlocke stood up... for the photocover for the fictional "G4M-LMS" Magazine its a tie they both did well.. and for the entire portfolio my vote goes to claydoh for being consistent ...

FOR the finals... for me ... the gold must go to claydoh.

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

7. yoh_asakura:

warlocke

runway walk - Your walk is dreadful, boring and a waste of time. please do get runway lessons immediately.

magazine cover - I am so much proud of you because of this photo. Your photo is overwhelming and really looked like a magazine cover! You made us proud. Goodluck!

portfolio - Not the strongest but some photos were extraordinary.

claydoh

runway walk - i see a model with a personality but buying it is not an option for me. Your walk is short and lacking.

magazine cover - i am indifferent, maybe because of the lack of editing factor. A part of me saying, I like it and also a part of me saying, otherwise.

portfolio - you have the better portfolio than warlocke, and sadly thats the only reason you can fight for the title.

runway walk - none
glms cover - warlocke
portfolio - claydoh

winner - warlocke

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

8. zavier.angel: Last Model Standing: warlocke

Warlocke wins hands down in several major aspects -- high-fashion beauty, poise and grace. His portfolio is piece by piece rendered with a fine artistic taste. His runway walk shows elegance par excellence.

Runner up: claydoh

Claydoh's photos are artistic enough to merit a second look. Endowed with flawless complexion and fine physical features, he has mastered the art of projection. However, he looks the same in all these photographs -- mild, gentle, sweet, and effemme. His runway walk was not even done on a runway but inside a room where an office table can be seen in the background.

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

9. ZephyrInTheS: This was a tough decision to make. claydoh's profile was more consistent than warlocke's throughout the competition, but in the final round warlocke definitely out-modelled claydoh. warlocke had a stronger cover photo, and though his runway walk wasn't too good, the video definitely proved that he wanted to win this more. claydoh's walk was perky, but it felt more like a go-see than an actual runway. overall, I think warlocke should win. He's grown the most, come the farthest, and put in the most effort. I'm happy to vote him as G4M's Last Model Standing, even though I didn't even vote for him to be in the Top 12. :-)

* * * *

Hi contestants! Welcome to the 7th elimination night of G4M's Last Model Standing Cycle 1.

crazycrepe was unable to submit photos before this week's deadline, and has therefore been eliminated. claydoh and warlocke have automatically made it to the finals. Tonight we will only be announcing Model of the Week for Round 7. Next week we announce the winner of G4M's Last Model Standing Cycle 1.

* * * *

This week your challenge was to submit a photo of yourself that best represented our theme for Round 7: "One Day You're In; The Next Day You're Out". We wanted to see how versatile you could be. We wanted to see how discreet you could look versus how flamboyant you could look. claydoh and warlocke, you both impressed the judges. Inspite of all the drama surrounding the models who backed-out, week after week the both of you still managed to submit high quality photos. You both definitely deserve to be in the finals.

Tonight we will only be announcing Coverboy of the Week for Round 7. Next week we announce the winner of G4M's Last Model Standing Cycle 1.

claydoh

2. Evian_Yohann: at first glance, I was amazed...after 2 seconds...don’t worry I’m still amazed, I’m excited in fact. I really love you. I’m such a fan. I never thought that you can achieve such photo. Well, actually the flamboyant one look retarded. hahahaha but its bearable. Good luck and good job! Congratulations!

3. Juls2: What happened?! This is the most crucial and final picture which will give us judges a final and lasting impression. I expected that you will nail the "you'r out" pic because it is your strength but it failed in comparison to Warlocke. The pose and smile is overprojected to a point of being a stolen shot. The outfit is great but the face is unsure and unimaginative. The "you're in" picture is better than your other pic and Warlocke's pic but it looked forced. The body language is also a stereotype "macho" pose and is again unimaginative.

4. lenin:

5. rotogold: I am amused at the gay portrayal. There was no shyness at all. You are totally out. No doubt that about it. The colorful costume with the unstructured posing will make people take a second look. Since there are the only 2 of you in this round, this makes it more difficult for me to choose. You know my prejudice and I always look at the masculine side of the photo. I have some misgivings on your 'in the closet' photo. Despite the macho pose, I cannot decipher the masculinity. Being gay myself, I cannot feel the heat of what a MAN should look like.

6. toyan: ITS A GOOD SHOT! LOOKS NATURAL... THE DSCRT PART IS THE BETTER PART.. I LOVE THE WAY HOW HE PORTRAYED A DSCRT GAY .. IT LOOKS EFFORTLESS.. THE EFFEM PART IS ALSO GOOD.. BUT I GUESS IT'LL BE BETTER IF HE'D TAKEN OFF HIS HEAD GEAR OR WHATEVER THAT IS.. STILL.. THE SHOT IS GREAT.. AND I LOVE IT..

7. yoh_asakura: Nice shot! The closeted image is very masculine, good projection. The out of the closet imge was a little surprising! Very nice colors! Body projection is good but your face have slight problem.

8. zavier.angel: I commend you for going half-naked in public. I also like your portrayal of a giggly girlish gay in rainbow colors. Throughout the competition, you consistently awed your fellow competitors, the judges and the g4m community with your well done photographs worth filing in a model's portfolio. However, I believe that a model should be versatile and flexible. Your "one day you're in" photo lacks the animalistic appeal -- the fierceness, the edginess -- that could make heads turn, pantyhoses snap, and jaws open. There is very little distinction between the character portrayals of the "in" and the "out" personae; therefore, the twin photos failed to carry out the theme and be convincing enough. I would rather congratulate your photographer for capturing the best in you but there is not much he can do to your limitations as a model. Congratulations, just the same. Your stamina is incredible; your fighting spirit is most admirable. Your performance in this competition will remain etched in the memory of the g4m community who witnessed the relentless flow of your beauty and creativity.

9. ZephyrInTheS: I love both of your photos. Your "in" photo is the most butch I think I've ever seen you hehehe. I love how you show off your socks and shoes in your "out" photo. Even though this is the 3rd photo you've had those shoes on, they still look new hehehe. You really know how to model the outfit. Great job.

``MYRRH -- photographer: I love the fact that you constantly put effort on each round. I like the closet gay guy pictures but it didn't quite go well with the loud and proud pair. The degree of fierceness you showed compensated and I didn't have any problem within the shoot except for the bulky make-up you used for the closet guy which you should've spared at least for this round. You got me on the loud and proud (which is reminiscent of round two of ANTM cycle 7) but your closet gay guy, although fierce, didn't quite sell to me.

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

2. Evian_Yohann: your flamboyant look is much more powerful than the closeted. If truth be told, it is beyond fabulous! You worked it and you delivered. Looking at your closeted, I feel awkward and dissatisfy. You looked like a mime ready to give a show at the park. Even so, congratulations and good job!!

3. Juls2: Your masculine picture is weak in terms of pose and facial expression. It looks as if you are not thinking of how to well represent the "you're in" theme. I expected that you will do better as against Claydoh because of your previous masculine pictures. The good thing is that you blew me away with your femme pic especially w/ your pose and facial expression. I can see that you really went out of your comfort zone and removed all your inhibitions. I also love that the two outfits are well put together and that the simplicity worked for you.

4. lenin:

5. rotogold: Why is it on the final round that I found both your photos so comfortable? I cannot see the edge, but I like the simple delineation. Unlike Claydoh's, your manly photo is not that superb, but is very very safe. Visually, you are the boy next door type. You have a cool attire, and clean demeanor. But what surprised me was your all out gay pose. You are unlike the real YOU. And that had made the difference. Congratulations.

6. toyan: ABOUT UR PIC... ALL I CAN SAY IS.. PERFECT IN BOTH ANGLES... BUT U STOOD OUT BCOZ OF THE EFFEM POSING DAT U DID.. I LOVE IT...

7. yoh_asakura: A so-so entry of yours. the closeted version was not impressive, it still look gay. Your out version is good, your in!

8. zavier.angel: I have a personal bias for minimalism that espouses the oft-repeated adage "less is more". You have metamorphosed gloriously from a closeted cocoon to a confident charmer. In retrospect, I gave you this comment on your elimination round: "Serious or smiling, you can be worth every click of the camera – thick lashes, defined brows, angular jaws, half-moon chin, deep-set eyes, high cheekbones. But the inner being is muddled. Have some confidence." After going through a rigorous retinue of swashbuckling photoshoots, you finally gained that self-confidence. Your "one day you're in" photo showed a fresh bedimpled smile which turned you into a dashing debonaire. Likewise, your "one day you're out" photo showed your pouted lower lip on a kiss me pose that exhibited the lovely gay in you. In these two photographs, you are telling the gay community how to carry oneself gracefully with a superb sense of fashion. If gays could look like you, our community will hardly be subjected to public humiliation through infuriating catcalls and deprecating side remarks. You have, therefore, become a model in every sense of the word. Congratulations, warlocke, you have become a real pro.

9. ZephyrInTheS: You amaze me more and more each week. Your "in" photo looks a bit "out", maybe cuz of the smile, but I still like how you show the outfit off well. Your "out" photo is gorgeous. I would have never guessed that that was you. Fantastic.

``MYRRH -- photographer: Your make-up is just right and the way you pose on both personas delivered. I love the chic closet gay guy but the loud and proud look, albeit quite as much as necessary it just got stuck with being just enough. You get directions pretty well and I commend you for being brave enough to take a risk by choosing the feel of a blank wall. You got me on the chic closet gay guy (which kinda reminded me of the Geek Chic challenge we had in GNTM C3… hihihi) but you didn't really wow me on the loud and proud role.

The mechanics:

1. Every week, the contestants will submit a photo of themselves based on the weekly theme. The deadline for the pic to be e-mailed to the contest coordinator is Saturday night, 9:00 PM. No pic merits automatic elimination. The e-mail address is g4m.lms@gmail.com. The theme for the following week will also be announced on Saturday.

2. The judges' comments on the submitted photos will be posted in the blog and in the thread. Votes, however, will be submitted to the contest coordinator through either private messaging or e-mail. The judges will choose who they want to be the Model of the Week, as well as who they want to eliminate.

The judges must submit a 1st choice and a 2nd choice. Results will be primarily based on the 1st choice. The 2nd choice will only be used if a tie-breaker is needed. In cases of a tie, the 1st choice will count for 2 points and the 2nd choice will count for 1 point, and the contestant with the most points will either be the Model of the Week or the eliminated contestant, as appropriate.

The deadline for voting is Sunday night, 9:00 PM. We're implementing a 2-strikes-you're-out rule. If you do not submit either your critique or your vote for any 2 of the rounds, you will be eliminated as a judge.

3. The contest coordinator will announce the Model of the Week as well as who is eliminated in a new thread, latest Sunday night 10:00 PM. A new thread will also be created for the new round.

Additional rules/notes:

For contestants -- You can post as many pics as you want in the thread, but you need to choose only 1 pic as your official pic for that week. You can ask the audience to help you decide on which pic you will submit as your official entry if you're having difficulty deciding. Please make sure that you don't put any text on your photo.

For judges -- Minimize criticizing a contestants looks. All we're looking at is the quality of the photo (poses, angles, adherance to the theme, artistic and editorial value, etc.). For this competition, you will need to submit a critique (1 paragraph minimum) for each of the remaining contestants every week. We will impose a 2-strikes-you're-out rule starting from Round 1. At the end of the round, please e-mail your comments to the contest coordinator so they can be posted all at the same time for the contestants to see.

CYCLE 1 ROUND 7 THEME: ONE DAY YOU'RE IN; THE NEXT DAY YOU'RE OUT

The Top 3 models will have a photoshoot together. The photographer will be a noted G4M-NTM alumni -- Myrrh. Your challenge will be to come up with 2 photos: 1 as someone who is still in the closet, and 1 as someone who is totally and undeniably out.

Pics will be posted here: http://www.g4m-lms.tk
or http://www.g4m-lms.blogspot.com

Good luck to all the contestants! G4M's Last Model Standing Cycle 1 Round 7 starts NOW!

Cycle 1 Round 6 -- Results

This is the official announcement of results for G4M's Last Model Standing Cycle 1's Round 6.

* * * *

Hi contestants! Welcome to the 6th elimination night of G4M's Last Model Standing, Cycle 1.

This week your challenge was to submit a photo of yourself that best represented our theme for Round 6: "Movie Mania". In the past few years, movie stars have graced the covers of fashion magazines more than models, and some models have become movie stars too. We wanted to see how well you were able to mix the worlds of fashion and movies in a photo.

This week was a crucial week for all the models. Whoever makes it to the Top 3 also makes it to the G4M-LMS photoshoot. The judges again had a difficult time choosing who to eliminate given the quality of the photos. Unfortunately, someone really does have to go, and so we continue with the elimination.

* * * *

In my hand I hold 3 pictures, and these pictures represent the 3 men who will be continuing on the journey towards becoming G4M's Next Top Model.

1 of you will be eliminated...

I will call only 3 names. The first name I will call is the winner of this round -- our Model of the Week.

You are G4M's Last Model Standing Cycle 1 Round 6's Model of the Week!

After 6 rounds this is your first win. The judges really loved your interpretation of Sweeney Todd. You've really proven to us in the past few weeks that you are more than just an average competitor.

Congratulations. You are still in the running towards becoming G4M's Last Model Standing.

* * * *

2 more names...

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

claydoh

Though the judges agreed that the text in your photo was somewhat distracting, you still gave an edgy look. Perhaps you could've upped the intensity a bit though.

Congratulations. You are still in the running towards becoming G4M's Last Model Standing.

* * * *

And that means...

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

crazycrepe and CeEJhAy_10, you're both in the bottom 2.

crazycrepe -- The judges thought your performance was so-so. They appreciated how you tried to be sublime, but the result was that you didn't stand out anymore. Could it be too late for you to show us you can shine?

CeEJhAy_10 -- The judges had mixed reactions to your photo. Either they really liked it, or they really didn't. While they appreciated your effort to show us diversity in one photo, the end result was that it seemed you were stretching yourself out too thin. Could it be that you've lost the edge you showed in previous rounds?

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

I have 2 men before me... 2 talented men who have so much potential. But I will only call 1 name. The model I do not call must immediately return to his house, pack his things, and leave the competition...

One more chance. Your time is running out. Use it wisely.

Congratulations. You are still in the running towards becoming G4M's Last Model Standing.

CeEJhAy_10, that means you've been eliminated.

We hope that you've learned from this experience, and we wish you luck in your future career. Thank you for joining G4M's Last Model Standing, Cycle 1.

And so the competition goes on. Cycle 1 Round 7 officially starts now. This round the theme is "One Day You're In; The Next Day You're Out". Please see the new thread "G4Ms LastModelStanding C1 Round 7" for details.

Cycle 1 Round 6 -- Judges' Critiques

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

CeEJhAy_10

2. Evian_Yohann: out of all d entries, you're the one who did alot of effort to your photo. I just dont know if its worth it. You took alot of risks, but im not sure about it. Your only saving grace is you effort and past photos

3. Juls2: I believe that the consensus of the judges is that we want to get rid of the femme theme but you still found a way to inject it. The good thing is that you presented 7 pictures where the majority, masculine look, swept me away. I applaud the effort in presenting different characters and you again used your ASSET in this crucial round. You presented your dangerous, geeky, and sexy side in this picture.

4. lenin: Probably a bit on the porn side? Except for that slim-rod body of yours, I canot find anything comprehensible in this photoshoot. I am quite at a loss here at what you are trying to portray or show. You blundered at such a very criticial stage of this competition and I am afraid this will cost you an arm. YOu have r eached this far and sadly, you were probably too complacent and thought just because it shows more skin its gonna get a nod? Less is more sometimes you know. If you get my drift.

5. rotogold: I am not familiar with the Hilton Siblings. You have shown the whole gamut of expressions befitting a model. The risque impression is certainly the strongest point of this photo! But of course, you tempered it with the different personalities of you and the characters behind them. And conceptually, that is really Most admirable. Naughty, sporty, stern, fickle, casual, elegant, bare and bold. You have chosen the NUDE you to become the focal point of the photo, and that is the biggest selling item of your entry. To me, you dared and you dared well !

6. toyan: you should have chosen something more familiar.. having the movie the american pie.. and fil-am pie.. ofcors.. american pie will flourish.. im sorry to say but dis shot is retarded

7. yoh_asakura: Wow! Are those all of you? A vast of passion is all I can see! You truly want to demonstrate your multiplicity and litheness as a model. You give worthiness to the word "TWIST" for this round, the concept is clear and you depict all the main characters for this movie genre. Congratulations! Final Judgment: Definitely, many will run NAKED MILE for you!

8. zavier.angel: Overdone. One can see the effort in coming up with seven shots (multiplied by at least 10 clicks each becomes seventy shots) from which the model can choose. That in itself involves one hell of a job. But this could be the reason why the photos were not properly composed to achieve visual seduction. The model should have hired a visual design professional to handle his entry for this round; as it is, the excellent modeling was devoured by the sheer lack of design craftsmanship.

9. ZephyrInTheS: I think it was very bold of you to do multiple poses in one photo, but you kinda spread yourself out too thin. Some of your looks look too similar. It would have been better if each look was clearly distinguished from the other looks.

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

1. Ellis: Isang rock star! Napaisip ako kung rakista ka talaga. Parang gusto kong manood ng gig mo. Hehehe!

2. Evian_Yohann: You know, when Kate Moss is modelling, she avoids sitting, kneeling and doing poses which can make her extra small. Your challenge is to come up with poses that can make you look tall even if you are short. Look what you did in your paparazzi shoot?

3. Juls2: Your movie concept really needs a lot of text on the side because I cannot understand it without the description. You look like floating in mid air, hair and lipstick makes you feminine, and your stance makes you look like a midget. I did not feel the vibe of a rock star except from the TITLE. This picture is more of a Pebble Star for me. I just hope you will be able to surpass this round and prove me wrong.

4. lenin: You look Like little Sid Vicious (of the legendary punk group Sex Pistols if you must know) in his younger days here. Goes well with your angsty pick for a movie genre. Much effort was obviously tried and you steered away from simply copying verbatim a movie poster and infused some originality. It looks clean and at the same time quite edgy. My pick for this round simply because you did not quite overdid things which was quite a far cry from what you used to do. A vast improvement.

5. rotogold: A banner entry of a rock star. That's what you are here, Claydoh. For the first time, I have not seen Claydoh, the model. Your attire – I may not be a rock star fanatic but you definitely seemed like one. This photo shows the other side of you. Honestly, I liked the total concept. I like the brick background. I liked the description you have put on the photo. I liked the simplicity. Most of all, I liked the hair. You are NOT definitely Claydoh for all its intent. Though lacking in the mania portrayal, I feel the Rockstar in you and you have totally immersed yourself into the role.

6. toyan: well the shot is.. good... but uve got too much caption in it... u should have minimized the captions.. and focused on the shot.. is this the movie being lead by mark wahlbherg? well, u did well.. it's just that the captions made ur shot too dragging..

7. yoh_asakura: I don't see and I cannot feel the rockstar that you want to reveal. Definitely, you are out of tune for the reason that the dynamics is missing. You look like more of a garbage collector in your clothing and it gives the impression of being awful because of the monochromatic theme although the details are satisfactorily crafted but still it doesn't make you a celebrity. The choice of background adds up to the less star quality in the making. Sitting makes you uninteresting though your pose and expression are good but it would have been better to project on a standing position to maximize your modeling potentials. Lastly, I like the hair and you may have my vote! Final Judgment: Yes you are a ROCK but the STAR is out!

8. zavier.angel: Rock star? The symmetrical balance between the heavy text on the right and the dominantly blue attire of the model on the left does not make the poster/picture that of a rock star at all. Symmetry and balance are for classical pieces, not for rock music materials. Rock and roll, in the first place, evolved as a rebellion from the classical. The misrecognition of this historical fact turned an evidently worked at piece of art into a failure.

9. ZephyrInTheS: I like the photo, even if the text is a bit distracting. You seem a bit too laid back though, given the edginess of the theme. It would have been nicer too if you had a more complex body angle.

2. Evian_Yohann: round 3 virign suicides - sitting, round 4 paparazzi - sitting, round 5 wow philippines - sitting, round 6 movie mania - sitting again eh!? that was so "comfort zone" of yours. You got the perfect production, fabulous photographer but then, you gave us a mediocre performance? You should learn how to experiment not to just rely on sitting as a fashionable pose. If you are still IN next round, AVOID SITTING! obtw, you looked like the victim in this photo not a villain.

3. Juls2: Your pictures are getting better but I sometimes doubt if you are really in tune with the concept. You chose an unfamiliar movie and I cannot understand why there is focus on the table. You seemed like a better version of CLAYDOH where in I needed the text description of the movie to fully understand the picture. If I where you I would name this as ANAK NI BABY AMA. = )

4. lenin: Alright the theme was movie genre right? BUT its also a search for best model. With Clothes or not. This got lost in this [particular poster. The movie theme was there, but where's the fashion side of it? Your over all pic faded with the background and your deadpan expession did nothign to lift you out of this particular muck.

5. rotogold: A victim. First, I liked the faint portrayal. It is the complete opposite of the violence of the movie you are supposed to show us. I liked the dominant foreground because it tells the whole story. But YOU got lost. I did not see nor feel the survivor instinct. You have to get into the fears facing a whole arsenal of explosives. Or was it that you have given up all hope for survival? I am careful here because, despite the strong thematic concept, you are not projecting correctly. You have just given up.

6. toyan: well uve made a good impersonation of Samuel L Jackson!!! this is a good shot! congrats!!

7. yoh_asakura: What happened to you kid? Just like Claydoh, you are sitting. Sitting makes you uninteresting though your pose and expression are good but it would have been better to project on a standing position to maximize your modeling potentials. At first glance, your entry in actual fact looks as a teaser poster of an action-suspense genre. But after some analysis, it's obvious that the production didn't work out well. It's too clean and too scripted. The objects on the table don't look materials to make a bomb and how will you make a bomb if you are hand-cuffed while sitting? Give justice to the criminal! Clean set-up is forgivable if your subject is working in a space-age nuclear laboratory. Your facial expression is too odd for the set-up; you seem to be lonely and wondering why you are alone and not ferociously portraying to be a dreaded psychotic bomber. In fairness, the porn model is still in you. Final Judgment: ReBOURNE your IDENTITY!

8. zavier.angel: The concept seems incomplete. "This man has planted three nuclear bombs in your country," the blurb says. But why is the man in the picture hogtied like Baby Ama being prepared for the electric chair? There were too many things on the table which did not help the audience/reader recognize immediately what these are there for. If the guy in the picture is the man who planted "three nuclear bombs", where is the fierceness in his looks? This poster/picture raises more questions than answers – which means the unifiying theme is still raw. But the model tried to rise above the technical limitations and emerge triumphant.

9. ZephyrInTheS: Hmmm... I'm kinda torn over this photo. Half of me likes the edginess of the theme, but the other half of me thinks that your modelling in this photo was a bit too simple. I think overall I'm just looking for a bit more intensity.

1. Ellis: Suspense-horror naman ito! Matanong ko lang, nung ginawa mo ito at tumingin ka sa salamin, di ka ba natatakot? Kasi nakakatakot ang itsura mo ngayon. Pero in a good way naman! Hehehehehe! Good job!

2. Evian_Yohann: This round is yours, there's no doubt about it! I love the clothes, the editing portion, the look and everything! Just dont understand your face, i am indifferent. but, its ok...its tolerable.

3. Juls2: Is this really you? I was looking back and forth with your other pictures to see its resemblance to the real you. I can’t see the model in here but a picture of Johnny Dep w/ minor alterations/ enhancement. The concept devoured the model in you but for me this is still your best performance yet.

4. lenin: id put your picture alongside Claydoh's in this round. Well thought and the dramatic effect of black and white, with a slash of angry red is just too strong BUT your fierce demeanor here Fortunatley did not get lost with such a strong theme. I have only one comment though, that you lifted this out of the movie poster almost entirely. A lil mix with somethign your own would probably have made this picture awesome, but you were perhaps too safe here. Johnny Depp will be proud though if he sees this. At least in this part, you succeeded in looking a lot like him.

5. rotogold: You continue to amaze me. You, with your subtle look at the audience, have bestowed fear amongst who will carelessly cross your stare. You are showing inner strength, that is ready to explode in a bombastic and bloody manner, but with the cool gesture of a refined and enraged killer. I like the colors. Black, red and white. All symbols of an impeding violence to commence. Very measured and very potent.I have a feeling that you will pass this round.

6. toyan: all i can say is.. WOW! dis s ur best shot so far!! i never tought it was u!!! it looks real! effortless! perfect... Johnny Depp wud be proud of u

7. yoh_asakura: Is that really you!?! Awesome! Did Ms. Cecille Baun help you with this? Kidding aside but this entry is the most realistic. But you didn't excel for this portrayal. There is inadequate amount of energy in your face and you didn't execute well for the blocking of the razor that you are holding as compared to what Johnny Depp did for this pose in the original movie poster. Now, see the difference? I'm not saying to actually laser copy it but you should have done better or created a twist for this entry. And what does the big water container doing behind? Nice clothes as alternatives. Final Judgment: You're PIRATED of the CARIBBEAN!

8. zavier.angel: Done with impeccable taste. The contrasting black and white colors accentuated with appropriate red made the photograph – or movie poster – classy. It looks hollywoodish but it is in itself expensively unique.

9. ZephyrInTheS: Love it! You really shined in this round. You've really come into your own the past few shoots. My only comment is that maybe there could have been a little bit more intensity in your eyes. Other than that this is a great shot.
